Dr. Barba de la Rosa has been distinguished with the National Food Science and Technology Award with the Third place (1988) and with the First place (1990). She has supervised doctoral, master's and bachelor's theses and published more than 70 articles in international journals. She is a participant in the Postgraduate Foundation in Biochemical Engineering of the ITC and in the Postgraduate Foundation in Molecular Biology of the IPICyT. She is a partner in the Foundation of the Mexican Society of Proteomics. She is currently Professor-Researcher "C" at the Potosino Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (IPICyT). She belongs to the SNI, level 2 in the area of Biotechnology and is a Regular member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences.
Her line of research at the IPICyT is focused on Plant Proteomics (amaranth, nopal, beans) and Proteomics of Microorganisms (Bifidobacterium longum and Ustilago maydis). Her works have focused on the study of proteins in response to stress and peptides with biological activity.
